I have her phone number, email and address in Dunster. I thought she might be moving, due to some postings about missing the view in Dunster on FB. I am no longer close to Lani, although when we were in school together she was very much like a little sister to me. I am surprised she is leaving Dunster, as it is a strong community she so enjoyed, and she was such a part of it. I knew about her ownership in the local store, for example, and she loved the annual ice cream social, as well as some of Scotch tasting that was held annually. Oh, and she did something there that involved throwing rocks across ice. She seemed to love the community. So I am surprised she might be leaving it, and her chicken farm, for other shores...possibly it is a man in a houseboat she once mentioned? She can be a lovely friend, when she's so inclined. She is a good person.
I saw comments to Eve Binnie about Bayard. Did you know he is deceased? I am not sure of the date, and I do know that it was AIDS. A very sad ending for him.
Oh, and Lelani Arris.
I am good, Tom, a little old and battered and oh yes, fat now...I am one of the students you busted in New Dorm holding a huge Midnight Special party where there was marijuana, wine, and other alcohol , and oh yes, we were smoking cigarettes...in the room...it was a pajama party, so we were all dressed accordingly...we were suspended for the duration of the term, but allowed credit for the work we did from home or wherever...when we came back we had to sweep, mop and wax all the floors in Upwey before brunch every Sunday morning. The other naughty boys and girls were Jamie Mulligan, Chris Bacher, Darrell Thompson, Darryl Caper, Wendy Carroll, Kerry Weeks. There may have been a few more. I also graduated in the summer term of 1976-a long time ago. I have wonderful memories, though...didn't you teach pottery?
