Optional: Please tell us something about your life at present, i.e., where you live, your family, your career, your passions, etc.
I've been an office nurse, minister, Jeweler, psychic and more recently done some writing.
Diagnosed 7 years ago with MDS, a bone marrow cancer that mostly kills within a few months, I remembered something Oprah once said "it happens when you decide".
I decided that was not what I had in mind, so I am still around. I quit chemo (thalidomide) after 1008 doses, which is 3 years ago last month.
So doing well on that front. I was rear-ended in 2000 with a lot of traumatic brain injury which screwed my finances up royally, which boils down to $930. a month income which has left me "residentially challenged ". Bummer, and VERY hard.
Through it all,my sense of humor has continually grown, which helps. Plus inately very creative and inventive.
Still love the outdoors and animals and growing things. I currently am at a shelter in Santa Rosa. I moved from Berkeley to Sonoma County in 1993.
Tom, are you still in S.F.?
Thanks Charlie etc.for the birthday emails👧
